Low-cost flights and easy transfers
Low cost airlines fly from the UK direct into the Bulgarian capital of Sofia. The flight time is around two and a half to three hours. Bansko is a two and a half hour transfer by taxi from Sofia.

There are a number of companies offering private transfers from Sofia to Bansko (by far the best way to get to the resort as roads out of Sofia are a challenge for self drive, particularly in winter). Prices start at around 150 euros return for up to four people, or 200 euros for four to eight people.
Taxis are readily available for getting around Bansko where distances are relatively short. However, if you wish to hire a car for use while you are there then we suggest you take a taxi transfer to the resort and hire your car from one of the providers in the town.
